Vulcan Salute XH558

V-Force Salute Carlisle Airport Solway Aviation MuseumFor the last time ever, Vulcan Bomber XH558 will be coming over Carlisle Airport this Saturday (27.06.2015) at 14:23hrs as part of its Farewell To Flight Tour and completing a couple of passes. Please arrive early in case the time changes and the Fly-Past will also be weather dependent on the day.

Parking will be via the airport entrance and disabled parking will be at the museum. Ample parking will be available and we would like to request that you do not park on the perimeter road, or block any emergency or farmers gates. The perimeter road is not very wide and is often used by emergency vehicles and HGV’s.

Café Stobart will be open selling a reduced menu and also the museum will have refreshments on sale. Car parking will be a £3, museum entry is £1 entry and entry to our Vulcan XJ823 is £1. Also the museum flight simulator will be open on both Saturday and Sunday, so why not have a go at flying a Vulcan.

Lindale CE Primary School Visit

Lindale CE Primary School from Grange-over-Sands came to visit the museum on Friday the 5th of June 2015.  They all had a great time and sent in some photos and some letters of thanks.  Here is a small selection.

Vulcan Update

Last flying Vulcan embarks on spectacular V-Force Tour, dipping its delta wings to Cold War heroes.

We are pleased to announce that the timings for the Vulcan Bomber, XH558 Fly Past at Carlisle Airport on Saturday 27th June 2015 will be at 14:23hrs. Please arrive early as we are expecting it to be busy.

On arrival to Carlisle Airport, parking will be via the main entrance and disabled parking will be via the entrance to the museum. Please do not park on the perimeter road, as this is also the access road for emergency vehicles. We will be asking for a £3 donation to park, £1 entry to the museum and £1 to have a look in our Vulcan Bomber XJ823.

Café Stobart at the base of the Tower will be open selling a reduced selection from the menu and the museum will also be selling drinks, chocolate bars and crisps etc.

All updates on the day will be made here on our Facebook page, it is important that you do not telephone Carlisle Airport or the museum as the staff and volunteers will be very busy.

Please also note that as always, it will be weather dependent and we will keep you updated during the day. The times on the day could also change, so arrive early.
